Online Video of Cancelled Kirby Platformer is Now Available
Kirby fans don’t want new games at the moment. Kirby, the Forgotten Land, and its Mouthful Mod shenanigans were launched on Switch two months ago. The pink ball who sucks people and things know about a Kirby game that was displayed more than a decade ago. Although footage of the project was shown at Nintendo’s E3 2005 showcase it is not yet available. Foulowe59, a YouTube user, has shared a new video of the GameCube platformer. Another clip was posted by the same account earlier in the year from the abandoned game at Nintendo’s E3 2005 booth.
Although the off-screen recording doesn’t give much insight into what the game would be like, it is enough to get an idea of how it was going to play. You can see Kirby using different weapons and abilities, as well as traversing what appears to be both 2D- and 3D spaces. The scrapped game was modified to fit 2011 Kirby’s Return to Dreamland for the Wii. However, the GameCube was very dry for Kirby fans due to the game’s cancellation. Kirby Air Ride was a delight. In City Trial, I spent a lot of time just exploring the city. It was great.

Fans are probably still disappointed that they didn’t get to play the game, but the Kirbyseries is doing well in all these years. Based on the feedback I received from coworkers, it sounds like Kirby is pretty good. The series was also part of the second video game Grammy award. The 8-Bit Big Band won an Award for its arrangement “Meta Knight’s Revenge.”
