Rebellion just streamed a demo of the third mission in a two-player Elite 5 co-op. Based on what we saw in the demo stream, here is what players can expect from the Sniper Elite 5 co-op.

Sniper Elite 5 coop gameplay

Sniper Elite 5 co-op gameplay is no different from playing it alone. While the demo showcases the more complex level design, it also demonstrates the sniper elite mechanics you are familiar with. The demo featured the developers playing on the third map. This allowed them to showcase the Sniper Elite 5 features and the level design.

Two players are positioned on a map within a bush at the third level. The mission area is outside your reach so you can use your binoculars for marking and posting points of interest. There are several markers for spottings. One has a downward-pointing arrow that highlights players; another has an alert symbol to highlight potential sniper nests. Another has a sniper icon. Another marker is for vehicles. It indicates tanks, trucks, and other enemy machinery. An orange question mark is located on the right side of the marker, which signifies that enemy personnel has detected something.

The Sniper Elite 5 co-op gameplay seems to be focused on stealth but allows players to shout louder if they want. You can hide in the long grasses and sneak up on your enemies using them. You can also use silenced weapons or other means to muffle your sounds. If it gets too loud, the markers will change color to indicate units that are aware of your presence and will make life more difficult.

Although the dev who showed the stream was stealthy may have been spotted by a cyclist, their partner might have made it more difficult. Both players will need to work together and make use of the available tools to win. It doesn’t seem to have any effect on the difficulty. It looks just like the Sniper Elite two-player coop experience that we’ve come to know.

The stream also did not show the other gameplay modes. The drop-in campaign is a drop-in and-out coop campaign. There’s also a PvP mode in which another player plays as a german sniper and hunts down the player. It’s time to get into the Enemy at the Gates theme. For an extra flavor, there is the option to use the four-player Horde Wave mode.
