Before today, I hadn’t heard of Testament — the next Guilty gear Strive DLC characters. They’ve now joined a growing number of “Reasons Why I Should Play Guilty Gear Streve Again” DMs that Funk-e Joseph sent me. Testament is, like me. To be precise, an agender hottie. I love feeling represented in video games.

Testament is an “elegant grim reaper”, appropriately dressed in a suit and tie, with two succubi, good thighs, a large scythe that spits out blood, and two succubi. They stab the last one into the ground, and then rest against it like Bugs Bunny in an invisible tree. To me, this is fashion. It’s also Guilty Gear, right down to move names such as “Unholy Diver.”

In the past, Testament was referred to using he/him pronouns. It’s obvious from their old designs that they have always been androgynous. However, it’s nice for Arc System Works to canonize during a Japanese language competition stream. The discussion has been translated by fans, with Daisuke Shiwatari (longtime Guilty gear developer) stating that “they’re androgynous.” They’ve transcended all human existence. “Just like me.” This interview is fan translated. You should take it with a grain. But, it’s a beautiful sentiment. Don’t you think we love a non-binary ruler? Yes.

ArcSys is also known for putting its money where it is needed (i.e. In the hands of a transperson. Kayleigh McKee, transvoice actor — Kayleigh has been in games such as Genshin Impact or Neo: The World Ends With You as well as anime like Beastars or Jujutsu Kaisen. She voices Testament and their succubi.

It’s difficult to take the Guilty gear world rocks references, alien corpses and vampires too serious. One line from McKee’s character trailer stuck with me, however: “Here, I thought you would get it… I used to carry my self like some kind of demon too.” Despite being surrounded by people who were accepting of me.”

Testament, in addition to being metaphysically superior than most people, sounds like they were a strong choice in older Guilty gear games. They haven’t been seen in the series’ recent revival until now. This will be their first appearance since Guilty gear XX 2002.

This is three Guilty Gear Strive I am enthralled by characters that are almost back-toback. Play Lose again . Baiken and Happy Chaos are also big favorites of mine — purely for mechanical reasons. It’s no surprise that Guilty Gear It happens to be the most insane fighter in fighting games at the moment. This has absolutely no effect on my one, queer braincell and its poor decision-making. It Does Help me to overlook the tophat.
