Square Enix insists that future plans for Babylon’s Fall are not in danger. This is despite critics and gamers slamming the newly released PS5 live-service game. It was the most poorly reviewed PS5 game according to Metacritic. The launch was also poor, with the game registering less than 1,000 players its first Steam day.

Further explanation: Babylon’s Fall will continue to receive support. Season 2’s development has been “practically completed.” Square Enix has promised to take player feedback into consideration when improving the experience. Developer Platinum Games already began work on Season 3.

This isn’t Square Enix’s first issue with live-service games. Marvel’s Avengers, Outriders were also subject to criticism. However, both titles have since gained a loyal fanbase and continue to receive new content on an almost daily basis. Babylon’s Fall is now available on the PlayStation 5 as well as the PC.
