GENERALS EVOLUTION MOD REMASTERS C&C GENERALS USING THE RED ALERT3 ENGINE
We hope that EA will soon give Tiberium Sun and Red Alert 2 remaster treatment. However, some fans have worked for 12 years on a modding project to remaster Command and Conquer Generals with the Red Alert3 engine. This mod is called Generals Evolution, and it was still being developed in 2021.
Beta 0.21 of the Command And Conquer: Generals Evolution mod has been released. This mod allows for a complete conversion of Red Alert 3 and will hopefully bring a lot of C&C Generals nostalgia to strategy gamers.
Command and Conquer: Generals Evolution Beta 1 Released
The Command and Conquer Generals Remake promise “better internet play, better graphics quality and stability.” Generals Evolution retains all the classic units from the original but adds some new ones, such as the Laser Paladin and Bombers. You can also find additional maps and sound effects.
Some users experienced some issues with the release. We see that most of these problems are caused by Origin accounts. This project was created to work with Origin and Steam versions of C&C Generals. The DVD physical release is not supported due to the “inability of inject mod critical engine repairs.”
The team plans to fix these issues, add more units, a single-player campaign, and some co-op missions. Generals Evolution can be found at ModDB. Instructions on how to make it run are also available.
This Generals fan remake is worth your time while we wait for EA’s following Command and Conquer remaster. Red Alert 3 is currently on sale at Steam for PS17.99. However, you might find a 2021 Steam Sale for a lower price.
