System Shock, the original game, was one of those games that shaped gaming for a whole generation of PC gamers. It’s been a long time since System Shock was released, so it’s sometimes difficult to get back to it. It’s been a long wait before we finally get a complete remake with modern quality of life enhancements.

System Shock Release Date

After a good port of the game on PC, the developers first suggested that a remake of the game be developed. The original plan was to name the new title System Shock Remastered at the time. However, after much work, this last part was dropped to show how much has been done to improve it.

The game was initially scheduled for release in 2021. However, it has been delayed since July 2021. The best we know is that it will be released in 2022 at some time.

System Shock was an action game for first-person with a techno edge. However, the original System Shock was challenging to use since it was created in 1994. Although the new game will be first-person, it will also have an RPG feel. It should also be easier to use modern standard controls and graphics. The gameplay is undoubtedly easier to enjoy.

Most of your time will be spent exploring Citadel Station’s access corridors and other narrow spaces. There are two options: sneaking around or going gun-crazy. However, if you’re looking for a way to get killed by monsters, this version of the game is very similar.
