A favourite returns
Baiken is a long-standing fan-favourite character. She has been with the Guilty gear series since the beginning. Although she was a bonus character in the first game of the series, her appearance had no relation to the story. Baiken has appeared in all of the games in the series. Fans hoped for Baiken’s inclusion in Guilty gear Strive from the beginning. However, their hopes seemed to have been crushed. Baiken was suddenly less sure of being included in the series when Nagoriyuki, the character with a samurai look, was revealed. Naguriyuki displayed the vampiric abilities of Slayer, another fan-hopeful addition. Although Slayer is yet to appear in Strive, it seems that Guilty gear cannot get enough samurai flavour. Baiken, fresh from her appearance in Samurai Shodown, is back to cause havoc to both Gears and people.
Baiken’s playstyle
Guilty gear Strive’sgameplay has been significantly simplified than previous series entries. This makes it easier for newcomers to join the ranks and allows for fast-paced battles. Baiken’s moveset has become less complex, as is the case for returning characters in strive. This does not make Baiken a weakling. Baiken was given some intriguing mechanics in exchange for her grappling claw, Kabari, which now ties her to her opponent. It seems that the developers intend her to be a more up-close-and-personal character this time around, befitting Strive’s faster-paced gameplay. One of Baiken’s most impressive moves is Kenya. This projectile launches large fireworks across the screen. Baiken’s expanded Arsenal will make him a formidable force for all Guilty gear Strive, players, new or old.
Baiken’s Backstory
In the early day’s Guilty Gear’s twisted tales, Baiken’s family and home were taken in a Gear raid. She has pledged to take revenge on the Gear raider, Baiken, and her family. This detail could have far-reaching consequences for the future story of Guilty Gear. Why? According to rumours, The Man (aka Asuka Rkreuz) will be the last playable character in Guilty gear Strive’s season pass 1. The game’s “Another Story” mode will debut alongside him. This additional story content could be Baiken’s revenge. Season Pass 1 will soon be over, and sparks will fly.
