Super Rare Originals Is Bringing 5 Indie Games To Consoles & PC
Super Rare Games is a publisher that issues limited-edition physical Nintendo Switch titles. But today, they are announcing an expansion through the launch of Super Rare Originals, a new publishing label.
Super Rare Originals, an indie-first digital publishing company, is designed to bring top-quality indie titles to more gamers than ever before. All Originals games will soon be available on PC and consoles. However, launch dates and specific platforms are yet to be announced. Super Rare promises details about one of the upcoming games “very soon”, but more information will be released closer to each game’s release window.
These are the five games announced thus far:
- Grapple Dog “Grapple Dog” is a 2D platformer for pixel art from Joseph Gribbin. You can use your amazing grappling hook to overcome difficult challenges as Pablo, Grapple Dog. You will sail across six colourful worlds with a team of brave adventurers to stop Nul, the robotic overlord, from destroying the planet!
- POSTVOID – “POSTVOID” is an arcade-style first-person shooter that requires you to be quick. Keep your idol full of liquid and move forward. Every run will be different thanks to procedurally generated levels. The console release will include the already-available Steam version, while Super Rare will assist.
- Explore a mysterious island with a tiny lizard. As you travel across an island civilization that has lost its time, complete ancient puzzles, climb cliffs effortlessly and eat bugs. You can climb anything, solve old gadgets, and navigate through crumbling ruins to save your friend.
- Lone Ruin “Lone Ruin” is a spell-based twin-stick shooter, a roguelike twin-stick shooter. The creators of Hell created it Is Other Demons. You play as an explorer searching for an ancient power. The ruin is built on top of a source magical goop used by older mages to transform and power themselves. You will need to fight your way through the twisted creatures and use your magic abilities to reach the bottom.
- Completely Stretchy “Completely Stretchy” is a cartoony, short surreal experience in the first person. Use your newfound floppy abilities to explore the lively Grombi Islands. Please participate in the fun activities of the eccentric inhabitants by talking to them. You might even be able to piece together The Grombi Isles’ story.
Super Rare released more information about Originals’ launch in a press release. They describe it as “the natural evolution of wanting support indie developers at all sizes.” They say they are an indie-first team because they believe developers should be honoured to work with them and not the other way round, which is often the case.
