Rainbow Six Siege: Operator Leaks and Release Date, Map Reworks and More
Rainbow Six Siege is coming soon to the game. We shouldn’t wait too long before discovering what Ubisoft has in store.
The game’s seventh year of content is 2022. However, it also marks Rainbow Six Extraction’s release, a spin-off from the Siege universe. While a new cooperative multiplayer online game is something to be proud of, most Siege players are more interested in what Ubisoft Montreal has in store for the seventh year.
@benjaminstrike, a well-known leaker, suggested that we might see Goyo’s rework in Y7S1. This is something we have to be careful with. However, Benjaminstrike has a nearly flawless record in Siege leaks, and we believe it to be possible.
Ubisoft originally stated that they would rework Goyo starting in Year 6. However, it was repeatedly pushed back. The team’s most recent communication was in a blog in November when they told fans:
“We don’t want to make you wait any longer, but Goyo still needs more time for his rework.
“Originally revealed during Year 6, our team had plans for Goyo. However, as the year progressed, other Operators have changed and moved on.
“We found that the change we wanted to make requires us completely redoing his animations. It took more time than we had anticipated.”
Rainbow Six Siege Y7S1 Date of Release
Ubisoft Montreal did not confirm a release date or start date for Rainbow Six Siege: Y7S1 on its test server at the time of writing. However, we expect to learn more at the annual Six Invitational.
The Six Invitational, an annual Ubisoft esports tournament, is a giant Rainbow Six Siege event.
The Group Stage will be held from February 8th through 12th and the Playoffs on February 14th to 20th. The Grand Final will be held on February 20th.
We imagine that Ubisoft will unveil a plan for Year 7 at some point during the event. More details about Y7S1 will also be revealed.
