‘Oblivion’ Beaten In Two And A Half Minutes In Mind-Boggling Speedrun
I don’t know if you’re a fan, but speedrunners are the people I admire most in the gaming world. It takes planning, trial and error, and patience to keep playing the same game repeatedly to get it right the first time. With no planning, I attempted it in Pokémon Black2. It took me eight hours to complete the task. This is a remarkable performance considering that the current world record was just over three hours. I digress.
This paragraph should be prefaced because Oblivion’s main story usually takes 28 hours to complete. HowLongToBeat says that if you hurry it, you can get to the credits in less than 16 hours. Reasonable. It is quite reasonable.
The completed run took two minutes, 33 seconds and was 180 milliseconds. You won’t get the full experience if you do it too fast. The whole thing is dependent on exploits and glitches. However, this doesn’t render the speed run invalid. It was submitted to the Any% category.
The video is available to view below. Please note that Karsto’s time does not include loading and waiting times due to inconsistency. His time was faster than that of Dezmone, who had just taken the record for himself a few days before. Their time was two minutes 34 seconds. It was very close. It’s not like I could do it better.
