Many Harry Potter fans look forward to Hogwarts Heritage. However, they would have had a different experience if the developers believed it was possible. EA almost canceled the Harry Potter MMO despite all of the research and development that had been done on it.

An interview with former EA Director for Product Marketing Kim Salzer revealed that the game’s development was prototype. We did all the research. The beta was built. It was an online/offline experience, where we sent stuff to the children like ribbons and prizes. Salzer: “It was a thorough research project and I am confident the,at it will succeed.”

EA Cancelled Harry Potter MMO Because It Didn’t Believe

Salzer points out that EA did not believe the Harry Potter IP at the time. It was killed because EA was going through changes at the time, and they didn’tdbelieve that the IP would last more than a year. She said. It is worth noting that the decision was taken before the Harry Potter films and books became a massive success in the mid-2000s.

The Harry Potter films have a robust cinematic universe that has produced another generation of Fantastic Beasts. Warner Bros Games is currently developing Hogwarts Legacy on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S.
