Toughest to Receive Major Updates in Eternity’s End, including a New Challenge Mode
Shadowlands Patch 9.2 Eternity’s End PTR is now live. Blizzard has also released the first patch notes describing all of the new content in the first build.
Blizzard revealed the first glimpse at Torghast’s changes in patch notes. They include four new layers, including new Torments and buffs for the older ones.
Layers 13-14 will have 1 Empowered Torment, and layers 15-16 will have 2 Empowered Torments.
A new game mode, “The Jailer’s Gauntlet,” will also be available. It features increasingly challenging boss battles across 8 floors per level with a total of 8 layers.

This boss rush mode rewards will include new cosmetics. They will likely follow the example of the Twisting Corridor, which is currently available in the game.
Toughest loses a part of its draw due to the legendary upgrades that require materials from Zereth Mortis. Therefore, introducing a new mode inside the tower with all-new rewards and exciting new challenges gives players a reason to return.
In the coming weeks, players will learn more about the game mode as they explore the power structure inside and the differences between a usual transparent manner and a boss rush mode.
Eternity’s End PTR went live on December 2nd. It will run for 6-8 more weeks before going live on Shadowlands servers.
