Rust: When is the Next Blueprint (BP-Wipe)?
Rust changes constantly, so you can’t be specific that you are up to date and have all the information you need. This is also true for blueprints. With blueprint wipes, everyone goes back to square 1.
As part of the December 2021 update, the next blueprint wipe in Rust is scheduled for Thursday, December 2nd, 2021.
Players on all servers will need to re-learn the skills they have already learned by obtaining the blueprints again.
Facepunch isn’t strict about their blueprint wipe schedules. They don’t occur every month, but more frequent server wipes do. Facepunch can go well over a year without wiping blueprints.
This applies only to the PC version; Console Edition uses an entirely different procedure to its older brother.
Blueprints get wiped in Rust because of their colour.
The reason blueprints are wiped in Rust is a twofold question.
It levels the playing field, which prevents the experience from becoming stagnant for many players. It can help to bring everyone back to square 1.
Our second explanation is more speculation-based, but it could also have to do with the amount of data generated by so many players and so many variables (e.g. unlocks) that impact game performance. Facepunch is essentially flushing the data away. This makes their job easier and keeps servers more stable.
Rust is now available on PC.
