Raiden is a katana-wielding Cyborg that players take control of. The initial playable form is the “Standard Body,” which resembles Raiden’s body in Metal Gear Solid 4. However, it has a more natural-looking face. Alternate skins can be used to change Raiden’s appearance. Rising is more action-oriented than previous Metal Gear titles, which had players trying to hide their identities from enemies. Rising focuses on sword fighting and a sophisticated cut system to defeat enemies. Raiden’s primary weapon is his high-frequency blade. However, Raiden can also wield weapons like a dagger and a rocket launcher. Additional sub weapons are only available after you defeat the bosses.
