Throughout Warner Bross Hall H panel in San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, the studio confirmed that the upcoming The Flash movie is still on track, although the film has land a manager.
But one thing stuck out: the film will apparently be called Flashpoint. The title alone should really be a shock. The 2011 Flashpoint event has climbed to legendary status in just six years because it required a deeply private Flash narrative and used it to unveil the entire DC comics universe, taking Flash to an alternate universe where the Justice League doest exist along with the worls heroes are on the edge of war.
Ist it a little soon to create alternate universes from the DCEU? Flashpoint definitely sounds like the kind of narrative that warrants the blockbuster therapy.
Superman doesn’t exist. And , Barrs mom Nora is still living. Is only by time traveling and merging with his earlier self that hs able to undo the damage hs done. If this sounds incredibly convoluted, it should. But it works, since it depends on the reader base-level understanding of not just the Flash but additionally Reverse-Flash, the Justice League, and also how they all connect. Wouldt it be better to create better movies with the characters they have, instead of starting all over again? Warner Bros. needs to be spending its time constructing up its characters Comic book superheroes are characterized by the stories which shape who they are and how fans relate to them. Warner Bros. should be making movies that build up their characters, helping to foster that connection. Building a universe-flipping film like Flashpoint too soon runs the very real risk of undermining that.
