With a September release date, it’s likely we will find a last push of trailers, and a better look at the newest Volta modes, in the coming weeks — maybe in Gamescom 2019.

FIFA 2020 launch date
Much like the changing of the seasons (and the football seasons themselves), there is an annually expected launch window for FIFA games.

For at least a decade, FIFA games have started towards the end of September, and that’s now confirmed with the FIFA 20 release date being set for September 27.

If you’re an EA Access participant however, you receive a week’s early play, together with the sport launch on the subscription service on September 19.

The previous two FIFA games landed on the last Friday in September (29 September, 2017 and 28 September, 2018) which, as we predicted, would emphasise FIFA 2020’s launch for Friday 27 September 2019. Note that FIFA games start with a name suggesting the season ahead — FIFA 20 may come out in 2019, but its FIFA 20 / 2020 naming will signify the coming season.

Remember ancient PS1-era FIFA games’ indoor soccer modes? Or the street-style ‘Futsal’ matches of the FIFA Street series? They will return as a brand new’Volta Football’ mode in FIFA 20. You’ll have the ability to play with 3v3 Rush (no goalies), 4v4, 4v4 Hurry, 5v5 and Professional Futsal matches in indoor and outdoor games in bespoke stadiums from all over the world.

Cover Star

EA has revealed two of the cover stars for FIFA 20 before its September launch. On the Standard Edition Eden Hazard of Real Madrid fame will take centre stage while on the Champions Edition Virgil van Dijk is the celebrity.

After a few weeks of waiting, we also know that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane will feature on the cover of the FIFA 20 Ultimate Edition, in addition to at the FIFA 20 Ultimate Team within an Icon.

After E3 2019 FIFA fans still had questions regarding the addition to the franchise. Now, EA has begun providing some more answers at a new blog post which delves into a few of the changes to Guru Clubs.

Pro Clubs

FIFA 20 will probably be bringing in a new avatar system that will see player creation change in Guru Clubs and across the rest of the game. While it maintains features of the old system–comment name and placing celebration styles contained –it builds on it, giving gamers more control over the invention of their, well, player. In the past, the demo was offered or two sooner than the launch date. Looking back, FIFA 19’s demo was available on 13 September, 2019, fourteen days before the game launching — EA followed this same pattern for FIFA 18, FIFA 17 and FIFA 16 .

If the same pattern applies for this year, and that we presume it will but can not guarantee we’d expect the demo to have fallen by 14 September. This is all speculation for now — but we will be sure to update you when we receive confirmation.
